TKN Scholarship Guidelines
To provide financial aid to a student from a member institution (Creighton University, Iowa Western Community College, Metropolitan Community College, Omaha Public Schools, University of Nebraska at Omaha, Westside Community Schools) planning to attend or currently attending a higher secondary educational institution and majoring in media production/broadcasting.
STUDENT APPLYING MUST:
- Apply and be accepted for admission to a higher secondary educational institution
- Plan to major in media production/broadcasting (TV/Radio/Film)
- Be a student who has consistently maintained a grade average of 3.0
- Have contributed to a Broadcast and Video Production program through their academic accomplishments, leadership skills, or technological knowledge
- Complete an application form (available online @ tknomaha.org)
- Write an essay of up to 500 words stating your career goals in the production/broadcasting (TV/Radio/Film) field
- Submit a short sample(s) of your work on DVD, or a URL for online viewing, with a clear description of the project(s) shown and your role in the projects
- One letter of recommendation (maximum of one page) from two individuals (a teacher or an academic/career advisor)
Scholarship recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress.
